"Shower Effect of English"
The days spent at GIS have become invaluable memories for both our child and us as parents. By being immersed in English all day, our child's listening has rapidly improved while they also enjoy learning in Engligh too. When the class had Show and Tell, the children are able to think and respond to each other naturally.
The excitement we felt when winning the drama competition is still vividly remembered, and it became an important experience in fostering a sense of achievement and confidence. Additionally, there were many seasonal events like Halloween and Christmas that we were able to enjoy, making every day a continuation of joyful memories.
Now that they have graduated, when I see my child watching YouTube programs in English, I realize how meaningful it was for them to be immersed in English at GIS during such a critical period for language development.
Thank you so much to everyone at GIS! -

"Looking Back Over Four Years"
English education for children in Japan has been evolving with the progression of globalization. In order to nurture individuals who can thrive on the global stage, English, which had previously been a compulsory subject starting in junior high school, was introduced into the upper grades of elementary school after 2020.
Both my husband and I had a strong sense of insecurity about English during our school years, and we harbored a sense of aversion toward the language. If we had more confidence in English, we might have been able to seize various opportunities. With that in mind, we enrolled our child in GIS, where the English education emphasizes engaging all five senses, ensuring children don’t develop a fear of the language.
Over the course of the four years leading up to graduation, our child was able to regularly engage with English, expanding their awareness of diverse cultures and people. This has broadened their understanding of other countries' cultures and helped them develop a more open-minded perspective.
Now, as a primary school student, our daughter says, "I like English." As we move toward an increasingly global society, she will surely face situations where English is necessary. If she enjoys the language, she will be able to communicate confidently in such scenarios without hesitation.
We look forward to watching her continue to grow, fostering self-confidence and using the skills she gained at GIS—like speaking up proactively—to express -

"Safe and Comfortable English Environment"
Wanting our child to become familiar with English from an early age, we enrolled them in GIS at 2 years and 0 months old. Both of us, as parents, only have basic daily conversational English skills, our home conversations are in Japanese. I remember being amazed by the effect of GIS’s English immersion when, at around the age of 3, our child started playing with dolls, not in Japanese, but in English.
Now at the age of 5, they often speak to us in English, while we reply in Japanese. Thanks to being in an English environment at GIS from the crucial language development stage at age 2, our child has no sense of “studying” English or have any discomfort with the language. They seem to absorb English as naturally as they do Japanese.
Not only have we seen the benefits in their English language skills, but we also feel reassured every day hearing from our daughter about the love and care the teachers give the children. I’m truly grateful we chose GIS, and I’m confident it was the right decision. -

"Big Changes in My Daughter Thanks to the Learning Environment"
Both of us parents struggled a lot with learning English, so we wanted our daughter to develop an interest in English without any resistance. We made efforts to expose her to English from a young age. However, she wasn’t showing much interest, and we were worried. That’s when we learned about GIS and decided to enroll her.
At first, she had difficulty adjusting, but after a few months of attending GIS, she began showing a proactive attitude toward learning English. When I asked her why she wanted to learn more, she happily responded, “Because I want to talk more with my teachers!” I am filled with gratitude to the teachers at GIS, who nurtured this mindset of wanting to learn not because she has to, but because it’s fun.
When she first started, I was honestly anxious every day, but looking back now, I realize that in just a few months, her attitude toward English changed dramatically. Those anxious days now feel like they were just a fleeting moment.
I’m truly glad we discovered GIS and decided to enroll her. I’m looking forward to seeing how she continues to grow in this wonderful environment. -

"Discovering What She Loves and Smiling"
Inspired by her older sister who attended GIS, our younger daughter expressed her desire to ride the school bus, saying, “I want to ride too!” This naturally led to her enrollment in the nursery class. In the beginning, she didn’t speak much, but as she got used to the environment, she began to understand and follow the teachers’ instructions. At home, we noticed her using words and sentences in English, showing how much she’s absorbing from her time at GIS. These days, she loves watching “Paw Patrol” in English, and I believe GIS provides an environment where children can find what they love and grow through it.
Moreover, the teachers have always been mindful of the responsibility they carry in taking care of the children, and their attentive, detailed support reassures us that we can leave our daughter in their care with confidence.
When my daughter was 3 years old and we were deciding on a preschool, I wondered what the right choice would be as I held her hand and stepped into this world. For her, everything was in English, which must have been confusing at first. However, through her daily exposure to English, she has been able to experience so many important moments in her life at GIS, and I’m truly glad we made this choice. -

"Enjoying Kindergarten Life in English"
Our eldest daughter, who graduated from Pre-K, K2, and GIS, now attends the after-school immersion class. As a couple, we wanted our children to be exposed to English from an early age, so we chose GIS. What we realized after enrolling is just how wonderful the teachers are, and how quickly our children fell in love with GIS. The foreign homeroom teachers are genuinely attentive to each child, carefully considering their personalities and feelings. Our children naturally started wanting to talk to their teachers and express their opinions, which motivated them to speak English. Even our youngest, who is 3 years old, eagerly chats with the teachers until the very end of the day.
Our eldest daughter, now in the immersion class, joined the kindergarten class, and while we initially worried about whether she could keep up, she naturally improved her English through playing with her friends, thanks to the support of the teachers. I remember being amazed by the children's natural ability to acquire a language at such a young age. While we enrolled our children hoping to improve their English skills, I feel that the impact has been even greater than expected, thanks to the staff's efforts.
We are truly grateful for the environment where they can be immersed in English in their daily lives and play. At home, when the siblings play together, they naturally switch to English, and seeing them enjoy themselves so much in English makes us feel incredibly grateful that we chose GIS.

"Challenge Your Dreams!"
Both of our children have been attending GIS since they were 2 years old—our daughter is now in her 7th year, and our son is in his 5th year. As parents, we didn’t want our children to learn English as just a subject, but rather to experience it as a living language, naturally acquiring it through daily life. However, finding such an environment was difficult, and we were starting to give up. That’s when we found GIS. It was exactly the environment we had been looking for, and after the tour, we immediately decided to enroll them.
When we tell others that our children attended an international school, many assume that we, the parents, speak English or that our children are the type who actively express their opinions. But that’s not the case at all. Neither of us are proficient in English, and both of our children are naturally shy and more passive. Despite this, we’ve continued to send them to GIS because we have a peace of mind knowing that the teachers are always there to offer support, and they truly understand each child's personality.
Our children love their homeroom teachers. Our daughter even continues to attend the class of a teacher she was fond of as she continues through the immersion class. Although we rarely have opportunities to assess their English level, we were both surprised and reassured when our daughter achieved nearly a perfect score on the Eiken Jr. GOLD test while she was in K3, which gave us a glimpse of how far her English skills have come.
Our daughter’s dream is to become an artist who works internationally. Attending GIS has given her the confidence to look beyond language barriers and focus on her goals abroad. We hope our children will take full advantage of what they’ve gained at GIS, maintain a broad perspective, and keep working toward their dreams. -

"Growing with English, Have Fun!"
My daughter, who is in 4th grade, has been attending the immersion class since she was in 1st grade, and my son started after graduating from GIS. In the immersion class, different native-speaking teachers, each with unique personalities, take charge on different days of the week, creating a fun and natural English environment for the children. The kids enjoy the time spent doing their elementary school homework together, having snack time, and participating in seasonal activities during FUN Time. They also enjoy playing card games and engaging in physical activities. My son especially looks forward to meeting up with his friends from kindergarten.
We hope that through regular and ongoing use of English, our children will continue to improve their English skills at their own pace while having fun. -

"Daughter's Favorite"
I wanted my child to feel comfortable with English from an early age and get used to native pronunciation and accents, so I enrolled her in GIS, where there are many native teachers. It has been three years since she started attending. Thanks to the bright and fun teachers, she now comes out of class smiling and saying, “That was fun!” At first, she was very shy and could only speak in a small voice, but now it seems she’s gained confidence and can speak up in English with a strong voice. Even in casual conversations at home, she sometimes surprises us with her beautiful pronunciation, which makes us realize how effective the lessons are.
She enjoys the lessons as if she were going to play, and she looks forward to events like the Halloween and Christmas parties every year. Her favorite part, however, is making seasonal crafts, which she absolutely loves. I believe being able to experience the culture and customs of English-speaking countries from a young age is a valuable experience.
Through learning at GIS, I hope she will continue to enjoy studying English and develop a deeper interest in learning as she grows. -

"I also want to speak English! I want to make friends with people from overseas!"
I still remember when my 3-year-old daughter said to me, "I also want to speak English! I want to make friends with people from overseas!" Given the nature of my job, with frequent overseas business trips and English conference calls, she may have felt more familiar with English by watching me. Then we found GIS, and she continues to learn English joyfully with wonderful teachers. She looks forward to summer school every year, and I am so grateful to the teachers at GIS who always respond to her desire to speak more English and make friends with them.
On our way home from lessons, I remember when she used to look tired from being immersed in English, but recently, she happily says, "Today, teacher said something so funny!" and tells me about what happened in class. English is just one tool for communication, and what’s important is to speak confidently in your own English without hesitation, even if you're not perfect. I hope my daughter will continue to learn English at GIS with this mindset, expanding her potential while having fun. -

"The teachers are the best!"
GIS has such bright and charming teachers, and my daughter really looks forward to her lessons. Her desire to talk more with the teachers and become friends with them has helped her overcome any initial hesitation and naturally led her to ask many questions, which I believe has helped her learn English. In class, she learns real-life English, talking about things like the lunch menu of the day or her favorite music, making English a part of her daily life.
It’s often hard to see the progress in daily life, but I was amazed when I heard her understand conversations between foreign people. She also had no problems during her English proficiency test interview, and I feel she has made great progress. GIS provides reports from the teachers, which let me know how my child is doing in terms of her English skills and class activities, making me feel at ease.
Unlike English classes in Japan, where the focus can often be on studying grammar, GIS helps my child learn English as a form of communication, sparking her interest without the pressure of traditional learning. I hope she continues to enjoy learning English in this fun and engaging environment.
